Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Graphic

The Marshalltown High School (MHS) Drama and Music Departments are thrilled to bring Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to the stage in collaboration with Music Theatre International. The production will feature two acts with an intermission, inviting audiences into a world of pure imagination.

This beloved musical follows young Charlie Bucket as he embarks on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure through Willy Wonka’s mysterious chocolate factory. Alongside a group of eccentric golden ticket winners, Charlie encounters Oompa Loompas, fantastical inventions, and valuable life lessons hidden behind every door. With unforgettable songs, vibrant sets, and a talented student cast, this production promises an enchanting experience for all ages.

“This production has been so much fun to put together,” said MHS Choir Director Amy Ose. “There are so many unique characters; everyday I find something new to laugh about!”

Performances will take place on Friday, March 7, and Saturday, March 8, at 7 p.m. at Marshalltown Performing Arts Center, located on the MHS campus. Cost of admission is $7 for all ages; MHS Activity Passes will be honored.
