The Marshalltown girlsโ€™ swimming and diving squad closed out its dual meet schedule by splashing past Des Moines East, 139-41, on Tuesday night at the Marshalltown High School pool.

The Bobcats (9-1, 6-1) won their last four dual meets to close the regular season heading in to next weekโ€™s Iowa Alliance Conference meet. Marshalltown will visit Mason City on Tuesday, Oct. 21, and Thursday, Oct. 23, for respective diving and swimming portions of the conference invitational.

Tuesdayโ€™s tune-up included victories in all 12 events for Marshalltown, led by three apiece for senior Maisie Gummert and junior Leia Hernandez. Gummert won the 500-yard freestyle in a season-best time of 5:43.68, and she joined the winning 200 medley relay and the 400 freestyle relay.

Hernandez claimed the 100- and 200-yard freestyle races with respective times of 54.35 and 2:05.37, and she was a part of the winning 400 freestyle relay as well.

Gummert teamed with Zoey Pals, Rachel Case and Morgan Bear to win the 200 medley relay in 2:14.58 to start the meet, while Gummert, Libby Meyer, Adele Beek and Hernandez closed out the night with a victory in the 400 freestyle in 4:06.67.

Addison Elmore claimed the 200 individual medley in 2:37.18, while Drea Ceren led a 1-2-3 Bobcat sweep in the 50 freestyle with her winning time of 27.82.

Harlie Thatcher topped teammate Ella DeMonte to win the diving competition with a score of 209.30, and Emma Case got the Bobcats back atop the podium after the break with a win in the 100 butterfly (1:10.15).

Elmore, Bear, Meyer and Emma Case claimed first place in the 200 freestyle relay (1:53.55), leading a Bobcat sweep, and Alex Lasack led the field to the finish line in the 100 backstroke (1:18.43).

Beek got the final individual win, claiming the top spot in the 100 breaststroke with a final time of (1:13.80).
